The under-pressure manager stated he was not afraid of losing his job, maintaining, “I believe we are very near to changing our fortunes,” despite edging perilously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive loss to Rangers.

Another Capitulation Sees Old Firm Defeat

The Hoops were ahead their oldest rivals at half-time but a disastrous second period let Rangers to draw level on points with the reigning Scottish Premiership champions. The former MLS manager, who was hired from Columbus Crew, has now overseen six defeats in his first eight matches.

“The level we had at certain moments was of top quality. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was untrue. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I noted we've seen this before. That’s why I said that we are really close to getting it right. Currently: small things.”

“There were many, many good things that we did, like today again. But now it’s about consistency. My message would change the same. This is why I firmly believe we will manage to turn things around.”

The Rangers Boss Outlook

The victorious boss was cautious about a title charge even after what appeared to be a huge result. “We take it game by game, then we can develop momentum,” he said. “The faith in the group is immense.”
